Ingredients

Jareesh ingredients

  • 3 cups groats - Turkish
  • 1/4 cup Short Grain Rice
  • 2 can yogurt
  • 4 cups Butter Milk - try to use two or three days yogurt old
  • 1 chicken - chopped into 4 parts with or without skin
  • 2 tsp. Margarine
  • 2 tsp. Caraway
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 head onion - chopped small
  • Warm Water

Roast flavoring ingredients

  • 1 Spoon Margarine
  • 2 tbsp. Tomato paste
  • 2 head onion
  • 1 tsp. Caraway
  • 1 tsp. Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp. Crushed Pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Dried Lime
  • 1 Red Pepper - hot
  • Chopped chicken into tiny pieces

Preparation

1- Wash Jareesh and the rice then soak it for 30 min in hot water. 

2- In a pan, Roast the gee onion cumin until the smell comes out.

3- Add chicken and mix it all cover the pan and leave it on the cooker for 5 minutes.

4- Add hot water until it covers the chicken, Add salt and leave it until it gets cooked.

5- Take the chicken out of the pan. Add the Jareesh with the soaking water.

6- You can add water as it is needed. Leave it until it is boiled for almost 30 minutes.

7- Mix yogurt with laban then add it to Jareesh.

8- mix it all leave it on low cooker until it gets cooked for almost 1-2  hours

during that mix it up side down ,add hot water as it is  needed.
 

For roasting flavouring

9- Fry tomato puree with gee

10- Add onion , spices 1/2 cup chicken stew  mix it all
11- Add chicken pieces then  mix  it

12- spread it on the Jareesh in the serving plate
